Dedicated to bringing the community together, United We Pledge is the primary tenant of the Historic Pioneer Courthouse. It is where our headquarters are and where we administer the Give Me Liberty youth civics education & awards program from.
We also foster community unity in different ways. From Liberty Week, our designation of the week preceding Independence Day, July 4th, to Dixie Days, Veteran's Day and other holidays and community celebrations, you will find UWP either sponsoring or participating in these celebrations that draw the community together rather than apart.

The courthouse under construction circa 1870. Finished later that year, this photo shows the return of the cannon after some local youth took it as an April Fool's prank. The cannon was used to pulverize the black basalt quarried nearby to be the substrata under the sandstone foundations.
